LA LA Land

Well, after sleeping until 11am, I am sure from todays tour of Beverly Hills and surrounding area that LA is where LA LA Land was invented. The houses are obscenely huge (the Spelling Mansion is 100 rooms with its own Cinema and bowling alley), the average car was an SLK55, and each house allotment is @ 1/2 an acre. We drove by many houses of stars, including Tom Selleck, Tom Cruise, Jackie Chan, David Beckham, Danny DeVito, the list goes on....... Thats right, we took one of those tours that takes you to all the expensive places just so we can say we have been there, done that. We got some obligatory shots of the Hollywood signs and met a nice family from the UK on the tour. We ended up at the Farmers Market in Beverley Hills, which is marginally different to the local markets we have in Tassie. Think Salamanca, permanently setup selling lots of raw meat, fruit and veges and lots of little eateries from all over the world. All that said, the Melbourne Markets are much bigger. The boys found themselves a couple of small CALEB and ELIJAH Californian number-plates which they promptly purchased as momento's. The money over here is also odd. Not only does every note look the same, but all the coins are small, and the writing even smaller than on our coins - I can hardly read it, even with glasses on! And America must be the last place in the western world to still use coins down to a 1c denomination!!! After a swim in the pool, we have headed back to our hotel room to see if we can assimilate properly to the time zone - we will let you know how we go with it, as our Universal Studios experience starts 7am tomorrow morning :S

Sam screamed in my ear "THAT'S SO COOL" with reference to the mud pools and luge!!! Still in pain, thought I'd share it with you.
